A few weeks ago I did a little photoshoot with my gals Lauren and April. Take a look at Lauren’s Natural Look in Part 1. For one of April’s looks I had a play with her wedding makeup. April is getting married in December (see her engagement shoot here) and although we’re getting our makeup done at MAC on the actual day, we are playing with a lot of looks ourselves so she knows exactly what she wants. We had a few practices before this day and drew our inspiration from Kim Kardashian’s wedding look. April generally wears a smokey eye on a daily basis so for her wedding she doesn’t want the typical natural look but she doesn’t want to go overboard either. I think she looks perfectly bridal and glamourous! I used MAC Studio Tech foundation, Coastal Scents eyeshadow, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Star Wonder and Maybelline Gel liner for this look.
How did/will you have your wedding makeup? Traditional and Natural? Or a little stronger?
My two best friends are getting married later in the year and this past weekend we had their engagement shoot. They haven’t had a chance to see the photos yet so I’m just showing one sneak peek image and more will go up later on here, on facebook and on my soon to be launched website! How cute do they look?! These two have the most beautiful true love. They are so wonderful to each other and to others also. I truly admire and respect them and the love they have for each other and for life! I wish them so much happiness and I cannot wait for the wedding. I am so proud to be their bridesmaid!
April’s makeup and styling is by me. I also photographed the images. I am by no means a photographer or an expert with cameras but I am quite pleased with how the images turned out!
I hope your day was dressed in pixie dust! Who in your life has a relationship you admire?
I recently did a little photoshoot with two of my favourite gals-Lauren and April. The two of them are absolutely gorgeous and have amazing personalities that shine through in their photos. I had a lot of fun playing with makeup and applying it to their greatly different faces. There was no purpose to this shoot other than to have a play and practice with my favourite products. Over the next wee while I’ll be sharing the photos of them as well as a little explanation to the makeup. This first look is of the lovely Lauren. I went with a subtle pink/natural look. I used MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, Coastal Scents eyeshadow and blush and Maybelline mascara.
It was such a fun day and a little like playing dress up as a child!
A bright lipstick always makes me feel fun and fearless! Wearing lipstick rather than lipgloss makes me feel a little more grown-up and put together. And a bright colour makes me feel daring and fashion-forward. The new Beth Ditto M.A.C collection is full of bright and exciting products like this powder. This lipcreme glides on so creamy smooth and lasts all day! It’s very pigmented and is a bright neon pink. Check out the rest of the Beth Ditto M.A.C collection here.
