NZGIRL REVIEW: Mallow Bites

I think I’ve found my new favourite treat! Mallow Bites are so scrumptious, with the perfect mix of soft marshmallow and Cadbury milk chocolate. The bags are a generous size which, as is the serving size. I love the bite size of the mallows as I can have just one for a quick sugar fix or if I’m feeling naughty I can eat the whole bag! The vanilla ones are yummy and taste a lot like Cadbury marshmallow eggs. The honeycomb ones are simply to die for! Oh my how the boy and I enjoyed snuggling up to watch a movie while eating TWO bags of these mallowy goodies!

Mallow Bites are great for a sneaky sugar fix or for sharing with friends! We even had a go at roasting them over a fire. They melted perfectly and were so gooey and delicious!

They’re on sale now at supermarkets for around $2-$3 a packet! Go grab a packet now because when word gets out about these babies I’m sure they’ll sell out!

I rate Mallow Bites 4/5.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

Cookie-Dough-Balls
Ever find yourself eating most of the cookie dough before it even gets into the oven?? These delicious cookie dough truffles are made to be devoured raw! They’re egg free so they don’t need to be cooked! This recipe originates from The Cookie Dough Lover’s Cookbook and I got this version off bakerella.com! Enjoy! x

Ingredients

Amount Measurement Ingredient
113 grams Butter
1/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Milk
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
1 1/4 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
1 pack Chocolate Melts

Method

In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
Mix in milk and vanilla.
Add flour and salt and mix on low until combined.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Chill dough in refrigerator for about 30 minutes until firm enough to roll or scoop into 1-inch balls.
Place rolled balls on a wax paper lined baking sheet and place in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
Melt chocolate melts following instructions on the package. Remove a couple of balls from the freezer at a time and insert the cut stick into the ball. Dip in candy coating and let any excess fall off back into the bowl.
Add small sprinkles on top and place on wax paper to set. If the chocolate pools at the bottom of the ball, dot the balls on the wax paper until most of it is pulled off the ball and then place it on a clean spot of the wax paper to set.
Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to a week.
Makes about 30.

"True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost"

I haven’t been posting recently as I’ve been rather ill. I thought I’d share some photos with y’all. A few weeks ago my best friend came to stay, check out his blog here. My health may have temporarily gone downhill but I still have great friends. My bf and my bestie are the two most important men in my life. They mean the world to me and have stuck by me through everything! The quote I used in my title is so true. I never realised how lucky I was to be so healthy and how I took it for granted until I lost my health over these last few months. Hopefully I will never lose these two guys, I already know the value of their friendship!! I honestly couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend and a better best friend. They are both amazing! Anyway here’s what we got up to….

the boyfriend climbing on the swings
 cute cupcakes
 bestie eating cupcakes
enjoying the view from my house
 baking cookies
baking cupcakes
besties making faces (yellow hair against yellow wall haha)
